Here you can see our terms and conditions of service. We will make sure that you have read through these before you agree to any repairs to your laptop or PC.
• Dark Blue Computer Services (hereinafter referred to as ‘we’ or ‘us’) will make repairs to the computer supplied by the client (hereinafter referred to as ‘you’). These repairs may be hardware, software or both. The repairs will be whatever we consider necessary to restore the computer to a standard operating condition, unless otherwise discussed beforehand.
• We will not proceed in carrying out repairs that will cost over £60 without discussing it with you beforehand, or anything that involves reinstalling your operating system.
• We may have to uninstall software that is hindering the troubleshooting process (such as misbehaving antivirus software.) It is your responsibility to reinstall this software if you wish to keep it.
• If we accidentally cause physical damage, we will repair it at our own expense. However, we are not responsible for any physical damage which was not apparent when we began our repairs.
• We will take a full backup of all data before we begin any repairs, unless you request otherwise. In cases where the hard disk is damaged, we will recover any and all data that we can. We will not access any data except where necessary for repairs. However, we cannot be held responsible for any data loss or any damages resulting from it. Your data will be held securely and deleted when you are satisfied with the repairs.
• If we cannot diagnose the problem, we will return your computer to you without charge. If we diagnose the problem, and you do not want to proceed with the necessary work, then a diagnosis fee of £20 will be charged.
• You are responsible for providing licences for any software we need to use. Windows licences are usually attached to the computer, Office licences are usually separate. We will not normally install software beyond that required for basic computer operations.
• You understand that all charges, including any parts used, must be paid upon return of your fixed computer.
• If your computer is infected by malware (which includes viruses, Trojans, spyware and similar), we will investigate the extent of the problem. If it is a relatively minor infestation we will remove it, otherwise we will recommend a complete fresh installation of Windows. We will also show you how to prevent reinfection. However, we cannot guarantee that you will not be re-infected.
• All other completed work comes with a six month guarantee, unless otherwise agreed.
